Flaming Pie
Paul McCartney’s zehntes Studio-Album seit über vier Jahren (Off The Ground von 1993) ist musikalisch geprägt von den Arbeiten an der Beatles-Anthology. McCartney war damals der Auffassung, dass die Arbeiten an der Anthology ihn an die alten Zeiten mit den Beatles erinnerten, und die Songs von Flaming Pie dementsprechend geprägt sind. Neben George Martin arbeitete Jeff Lynne als Produzent.
Das Album erschien am 5.Mai 1997 in der EU (Parlophone CD 7243 8 57523 2 2), am 27. Mai in den USA (Capitol CDP 8 56500 2) und hatte in den USA drei Tage nach Erscheinen schon Gold-Status. Auch als LP Parlophone 7243 8 56500 1 7.
